In one of his books, the famous Harlingen born author Simon Vestdijk called the hotel The Sea Castle. It has spacious, well appointed rooms and a good restaurant, where excellent meals are served. From the large terrace, one has a fine view of the ships that come and go. There is also a cosy bar and lounge, where guests can relax or have a game of billiards. Zeezicht has succeeded in combining its historic character with modern amenities like television and video equipment. The modern library offers a wide range of books. In the past, the hotel was a meeting point and a club for admiralty officers, ship owners, whalers and merchants. Nowadays, it still offers good facilities for business conferences, jubilees and receptions. Of course, there is also ample room to sit and have a chat. All rooms have a grandstand view of the harbours and the sea. Comfortable lounge with TV and billiard table, large terrace at the harbour and a good spot for windsurfing only minutes from the hotel. |
