Scarborough is situated on the North East coast of North Yorkshire. The hotel is situated in an ideal location, just minutes walk from the local shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and only a 5 minute walk from the seafront. Scarborough is a great base for exploring the Yorkshire coast and its attractions, some ideas given below: Scarborough Castle (1.3 km/ 0.8 miles) - An excellent place to start when exploring the area, with its history dating back well before the middle ages and spectacular views of Scarborough bay down below, it is definitely a must see. Scarborough Sealife Centre (3.5 km/ 2.2 miles) - Scarborough sea life and marine sanctuary is open all year round, highlights including penguin and otter sanctuaries, a seal hospital and a whole host of other incredible marine creatures. Flamingo Land (34.4 km/ 21.4 miles) - Set in over 375 acres of North Yorkshire parkland with a themepark and zoo, its sure to be an action packed day for all the family. Goathland - Heartbeat Country (46.4 km/ 28.8 miles) - This picturesque village set in the North Yorkshire Moors, made famous as the main setting for the popular TV series Heartbeat. It is also home of the station used to represent Hogwarts Station in the Harry Potter film. Other attractions include the 70 foot high Mallyan Spout Waterfall and the North York Moors Railway. |

By Train (from Scarborough Railway Station): Only a 5 to 10 minute walk away, with the convenience of a taxi rank just outside if preferred. Taxi fares should cost approximately 3.50 GBP. By Car (from the A64, A171 or A170): - Follow signs for the train station and once there keep in the right hand lane. - Turn right and then keep in the left hand lane. - Turn left at the junction and continue straight through the traffic lights and over the roundabout. - Take the 2nd available turning on your right and the hotel is opposite the Grand Hotel. Parking: Parking is limited at the hotel and is chargeable at 4.50 GBP, please contact the hotel direct for further information. |
