Bellingwolde lies in the eastern part of Groningen, close to the German border. It is situated in a peaceful area that has many great places to go walking, biking, horse riding, or canoeing. The well-known Noaberpad, a lovely footpath from Nieuweschans to Emmerich (Germany), goes right past the hotel. The 16th century fortress town of Bourtange, which has been preserved in its original state, is also more than worth a visit. It can be reached from Bellingwolde in less than 20 minutes by car. To go shopping, it will be easy to make a trip to Winshoten, or even the provincial capital Groningen, which can be reached within 30 minutes by train. |
