St Johns Lodge is the food lovers choice, it probably offers the largest selection of breakfast menu in the area, from a touring visitor’s point of view, or if you prefer healthier alternatives, this is a refreshing change. Vegetarians, vegans and people on gluten-free diets will be amazed by the variety of homemade dishes available, along with traditional English dishes. This is an ideal location for access to the lake (about a 15 minute walk). There are plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs nearby. The Beatrix Potter attraction is about 10 minutes away on foot. There are 2 villages, Windermere and Bowness. Bowness is much busier than Windermere. Lake Windermere however is accessed in Bowness. This is where you can hire boats or take lake cruises. We are ideally situated midway between the 2 villages (around a 10 minute walk to either). |

By Car: From North or South: - Take the M6. - Exit at junction 36. - Follow signs to the South Lakes and Kendal. This road is the A590/A591. - Follow the A591 to Windermere and then signs to the town centre. - Drive through the village towards Bowness and the lake. This road is New Road. - After around 800 metres, there is a Catholic church on the left. St Johns Lodge is approximately 90 metres on the left-hand side (If you reach the police station or the lake then you have gone too far). |

The train and bus stations are also within a 15-minute walk, allowing you to explore the wonderful surroundings. During your stay you can visit Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England.
