Veli Lošinj was one of the favourite climate health resorts among the Austrian aristocracy, and is still renowned today. Facades painted in lively colours, a church and a tower adorn the small town harbour with numerous pastry shops, cafés and restaurants. The moderate climate is suitable for sports activities, recreation and improving physical form all year round. All the marginal seaboard paths, promenades and forests are ideal for lovers of these activities. There is over 130 km of cultivated and marked hiking and mountaineering trails on the island of Lošinj. Numerous diving centers next to the hotel organize diving trips, courses and diving schools. The windsurfing school is located in Čikat Bay near Mali Losinj. The sea around Lošinj is the habitat of the last large group of bottlenose dolphins (tursiops truncatus) in the northern Adriatic, which indicates exceptional cleanliness of the sea. |
