The town of Gorna Oryahovitsa is situated at the northern outskirts of the Turnovo Hills, 7 km north-east of Veliko Turnovo, 3 km north-west of Lyaskovets and 247 km north-east of Sofia. The Ambaritsa Hotel is situated near the city centre. Nearby attractions include: The Town Museum of History (within 1 km) - with numerous exhibits detailing the rich history of the town and its surrounding area. St. Georgi Church (within 1.5 km) - one of the towns most striking and architecturally impressive landmarks Rahovets (4 km) - these medieval ruins include a 250 metre long fortress, though there are mostly only foundations viewable today. |
