Of the Southcliffs 75 comfortable en suite rooms, half offer idyllic sea views, some with balconies. All areas within the hotel are accessible by lifts or stairs. On arrival at The Southcliff you will enter our recently refurbished, spacious reception area with comfortable sofas, Chinese rugs, tastefully decorated in keeping with the architectural style of the building. Here, our friendly hotel reception team will greet you. Once you have checked in, viewed your room and everything is to your satisfaction, feel free to explore the remainder of the hotel. We have Clippers, our comfortably furnished residents bar offering a wide variety of refreshments and snacks, whilst you sit and relax enjoying the panoramic views over to the French coast. What is there to do locally? Folkestone is steeped in history, from Bronze and Iron Age hill forts situated on the South Downs, through the ages to the building of the Channel Tunnel. Folkestone is a mass of public footpaths and bridleways, ideal for walkers and ramblers of all abilities. We have an historic harbour with a working Victorian water balanced lift built into the cliff face. The biggest open air market in the southeast is held just below The Leas on Sundays. We have a large library, a local history museum and the Metropole Arts Centre. The Lower Leas Coastal Park has had a complete refurbishment to recent years to make it one of the biggest children’s play parks in Shepway. The rotunda is a permanent fun fair near the beach; Folkestone boasts both sandy and pebbled beaches. Folkestone has a sports centre, golf course and Cricket Ground, an indoor bowls centre and an open air football ground. Folkestone and the surrounding areas have a wide variety of churches, both new and old, historic and derelict. We also have a wide variety of shops to suit everyone and boast excellent links to Dover, Ashford, Canterbury, France and London. |

Directions to The Southcliff By bus, train, or car it we are prominantly positioned 5 minutes from the bus station served by National Express, by train you have a choice of two stations Folkestone East or West and a short well posted journey from the M20. By car The Southcliff is situated only 5 minutes from juction 13 on the M20 and 50 minutes from London. 20 minutes from both the market town of Ashford and the major port of Dover. Using the Channel Tunnel, Calais is less than an hour away. making us the ideal choice to pick up some duty paid and discover the historic Cinque Port towns. |
