The Craigellachie Hotel is set in the heart of the whisky and castle trails. Within a 30 minute drive of the hotel you can visit many of the world famous distilleries, including Macallan, Glenfiddich, Aberlour, Glenlivet, Cardhu, Glenfarclas, Glen Grant and many more. Ballindalloch Castle is nearby, where there is also a golf course. The Speyside Way, which was the old railway line, is a walk that runs from Spey Bay to Aviemore passing right in front of the hotel and taking in Aberlour, the next village along. We are also only around a 40-minute drive from the coast, where youll find beautiful small fishing villages and superb beaches on which to stroll. |

By Car from Aberdeen: - Take the A96 to Huntly and just after the town turn left onto the A920 for Dufftown. - Turn right at the clock tower in Dufftown onto the A941 for Craigellachie. - Drive through the village and when you come to a T-junction turn right and then take the 1st right again. The hotel is on the right-hand side. (Approximate driving time: 1 hour 15 minutes). From Inverness: - Take the A96 to Elgin. - Follow the signs for Perth and then take the A941 for Craigellachie. (Approximate travel time is one hour). From Perth: - Take the A9 to Aviemore. - Then take the A95 to Grantown on Spey. - Follow signs for Elgin to Craigellachie. (Approximate travel time is 2 hours). By Rail: Keith or Elgin are the nearest rail stations on the Aberdeen to Inverness line, both being about a 20-minute drive from the hotel. Taxis are usually available outside the stations, or, we can arrange for one to collect you. By Air: Aberdeen or Inverness are the nearest airports, with various flights daily from major UK airports. |
