Since the current owners bought The Sun Hotel in 2003, they have carefully rebuilt it. The Sun Hotel is a listed building situated in the Lancaster Castle Conservation Area. As a result, it was impossible to add a lift - the 1st and 2nd floors are accessed by stairs. |

The hotel is situated in the very centre of Lancaster, within yards of the castle and all the citys other attractions. We are fortunate to be within 100 yards of Parksafe car park which is staffed 24 hours a day. The hotel is convenient both for the train and bus station, both are within 5 minutes’ walk. The Lake District is on Lancasters doorstep and many people choose to utilise Lancaster as a stopping-off point en route to the Lakes. | |

By Car If travelling by car we recommend parking at Parksafe car park which is less than 100 yards from the hotel. Due to Lancasters one-way system, we advise our guests to park at Parksafe (St Georges Quay) first. The car park is clearly signed on the one-way system. From the train station: The train station is approximately 500 yards from the hotel and an easy 5-10 minute walk. From the bus station: The bus station is less than 300 yards away. |

This 17th century, luxury, boutique hotel is the only 4-star hotel in the centre of Lancaster, and is superbly situated in the heart of the city centre. The hotel was originally built in the 17th century and is the oldest bar/hotel still operating in Lancaster. With luxurious rooms and comfortable furnishings, the hotel is an ideal base for an upmarket stay in the city. An à la carte breakfast is included in the price, and is a tasty start to the day. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
