Your hosts, Kevin and Carol, are proud to have taken over The Blue Boar Inn at the beginning of the year. Together, they are striving to maintain and improve the fantastic reputation that this wonderful traditional old English country pub has built up over the years. Cooler Autumn days bring life to the 4 open fires in the bar and restaurant areas, whereas the sunshine of spring offers the opportunity to relax outside in the patio garden and enjoy the extensive views towards the Cotswold Hills.

The Blue Boar has 13 attractive rooms, each with their own individual charm and unique character. Many of the rooms still retain many traditional characteristics and beautiful original features, such as wooden beams and stone walls. All of the rooms are currently undergoing a full refurbishment to update and modernise them, whilst carefully preserving these original features. All of the rooms are a good size and there is a range of double and family rooms available.

Working closely with head chef Jason Brew, the team continue to serve up great quality food, both in the à la carte restaurant and in the bar areas, which offer good old pub grub. The Blue Boar enjoys a great reputation for food from both customers and suppliers alike and the inn serves breakfast, lunch and evening meals. The menus are all about proper pub food and the inn continues to offer the traditional favourites, although chef is constantly trying to improve on their flavour and presentation. The regular specials offer variety, with seasonal local produce, and game in particular, used to best effect. The specials change on a daily basis to reflect the finest, freshest produce available locally. The inn also offers a range of delicious home-made desserts, including banana crunch and chocolate torte. You can enjoy a refreshing pint of hand-pulled real ale in the bar, which always has 4 cask ales on, ready to be pulled. The bar regularly offers at least 2 local ales and the renowned Shakespeare Brewery is just 4 miles (6.5 km) away. The guest ale changes on a monthly basis. The glass-covered well in the restaurant bar is some 35 feet deep and its pure water was once used in the brewing process. Today, the well is the home of a family of koi carp.

The Blue Boar is located in the village of Temple Grafton, in the heart of rural Warwickshire. The inn’s great location means it is well placed to enjoy all that Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and the North Cotswolds have to offer. Temple Grafton itself is rumoured to be the place where William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway. According to church records, William Shakespeare was married in Temple Grafton church in the year 1582 to one Ann Whateley. The name is thought to be a misspelling of Hathaway. With the inn as a comfortable and relaxing base, you can explore the Vale of Evesham and Chipping Campden. Slightly further afield, Birmingham is within about 30 minutes’ drive, with the NEC also approximately 30 minutes away by car.
