Faro is capital of the district and boasts a large number of monuments. Visit the Cathedral, Nossa Senhora da Assuncão Convent or the São Francisco Church, built between the 16th and 18th century. Museum’s such as the Infante Dom Henrique, the Ramalho Ortigão and the Regional Ethnographic Museum are always worth a visit. Beautiful churches and the Roman ruins of Milreu are also close by. Faros beaches and the Ria Famosa, where flamingos can be seen taking to the air, mark the border with the ocean. From the airport you have several transport options: - taxi (aprox. 10 min drive). - autocarro (aprox. 20 min drive). If you are driving, after entering Faro towards the center, go in front and we are 150 metres from there, at the end of the street. |
