Since the 16th Century, princes, religious dignitaries and poets have been drawn to the spas of Pyrmont. Besides the theatre, the concert hall and the castle, the city offers numerous attractions around Brunnenplatz with its Hylligen Born spring, the new pump room and Hauptallee. The historic spa gardens are the jewel in the city’s crown, and comprise a baroque network of avenues. In 2005 this area was named the “most beautiful park in Germany”.
