Originating in 1334 as a tavern for the Benedictine monks of Nonnberg Monastery, it has been in the Gmachl family since 1583. The family has owned it for 23 generations - the oldest family business in Austria. Today the Gmachl is a 4-star-hotel with attractive rooms and comfortable restaurant rooms that have kept the charming athmosphere of the old country inn. The further amenities of the house inlcude a wellness area with sauna, steam bath, infra-red cabin and mist grotto. Massages, a fitness room, a heated outdoor pool with sunbathing area and tennis courts complete the offer. |
