Saas-Fee lies in an idyllic valley surrounded by the highest mountains in the Swiss Alps, on 1,800 metres above sea-level. No less than 13 peaks higher than 4,000 metres encircle the village at the foot of the glaciers like a shell and give it its distinctive name the Pearl of the Alps. Get caught by the magic of the fairies and enjoy your holidays in the fresh and pure alpine air of this car-free village. Saas-Fee is one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland because of its Swiss Chalet-style architecture without multi-storey buildings, the ravines, the small roads without car traffic and the village centre with its wooden houses from the time before road access. By car: Visitors travelling by car from the north travel via Bern through the Lötschberg tunnel (car-train), from the east via the Furka Pass (or car-train) and from the south via the Simplon Pass. You can reach the Saas Valley from the west of Switzerland via Lausanne and through the Rhone Valley to Visp. By train: Visitors travelling by train travel to Brig or Visp and change to the post bus with the direct destination Saas-Fee. There are hourly connections until 20:05 from Brig and 20:25 from Visp. Check your luggage at your local station and collect it at the bus station at the Saas Valley post offices. You will find your train and bus connections on the electronic timetable of the Swiss Federal Railways. By plane: The closest airports are in Basle, Bern, Geneva, Zurich and Milan. The cosy, traditional holiday hotel Marmotte, built in the typical chalet style of the Valais, enjoys a calm, central location in the glacier village of Saas-Fee. A pleasant atmosphere reflects the typical Valais style of the entire house. The hotel has 25 spacious rooms with 45 beds and offers a rich Saaser breakfast buffet and half-board including a multi-course menu in the evening that is changing daily. Its first-class Swiss cuisine also reflects the typical Valais style. In addition, the hotel features a sauna, a solarium, a whirlpool and W-LAN internet access, and offers a free luggage transport from and to the multi-storey car park.
