Hikers will enjoy the unforgettable challenges posed by the Harz mountain crossings, accompanied by an experienced guide. Nature lovers can enjoy hiking tours organised by Rudi Wagner, our in-house expert guide. We are also happy to arrange motorcycling tours through the Harz mountains. Spa facilities are easy to reach in the immediate vicinity. Apart from walking, you can indulge in several other leisure pursuits in Bad Harzburg – these include classic pastimes such as golf, tennis, swimming, ice-skating, horseriding, as well as more trendy modern sports such as skating, free climbing, mountain biking and Nordic walking. Bad Harzburg has much to offer during the day or by night. You can indulge our every fantasy along the main shopping street ringed by chestnut trees and boasting 8 cafes, one tea-room and 30 restaurants. Or maybe you fancy having a little flutter in the local casino, or whiling a pleasant evening away in the many cosy bars and pubs, or even the large disco? Other good day-trip destinations are Wolfenbüttel with its rich associations with the writer Lessing, Braunschweig and its links to Henry the Lion-heart, Wolfsburg the famous automobile city or Gifhorn. The towns of Goslar and Quedlinburg are both UNESCO world heritage sites. Hanover offers the world-famous Cebit technology fair and the Herrenhausen Gardens. In Helmstedt there is a memorial to where the largest border crossing between East and West Germany once stood. |
