The award-winning Hilton Villa Igiea overlooks the Bay of Palermo. This elegant establishment features beautiful, landscaped gardens and a panoramic swimming pool. It was built in the late 19th century by the Italian Art Nouveau architect Ernesto Basile for the affluent Florio family. Its characteristic castle design is complimented by period furniture, original frescoes and chandeliers. The Hilton Villa Igiea Palermo began as a prestigious health centre and takes its name from the Greek goddess of health, Igiea. It was later converted into an exclusive hotel which became a favourite with international high society, even hosting some royal guests over the years.
