Siracusa offers many historical sights within its ancient centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including: - The Castello Maniace: Famous for its pointed portal, decorated with polychrome marbles, the castle was built between 1232 and 1240. - The important Archaeological Museum: Housing artefacts from the mid-Bronze Age to 5th century BC. - The Fountain of Arethusa: According to a legend, the nymph Arethusa, hid here when being chased by Alpheus. Noto, Ragusa and Pantalica are all located nearby, as are the wildlife reserves of Vendicari and Cavagrande. Arenella, Fontane Bianche, Capo Passero and Isola delle Correnti beaches are also easily accessible. The B&B provides the opportunity to go on guided tours of the nearby attractions, as well as speedboat trips. |
