Pamukkale (800 metres) - meaning cotton castle, ancient tectonic movements created a number of hot springs which, having reacted with the stone, has left thick white layers of limestone and travertine cascading down the mountain slope, making the area look like a spectacular fortress of cotton or a frozen waterfall. Hierapolis (1.5 km) - a UNESCO world heritage site, this ruined city dates back to the 2nd century. Today an archaeological museum exists on the site and details its varied history. Denizli (20 km) - this small industrial city is the largest in the province. Neat and attractive, there is a modest but popular shopping and nightlife selection. |

By Air: From Çardak Airport (60 km) - Taxis, buses and Dolmus services connect the airport with Denizli. - From here, you can take either a taxi or a Dolmus to Pamukkale (the latter depart every 15 minutes, daily).
