Bolsenas lake is the main volcanic lake in Italy, its waters are clear and the surrounding hills are covered by a thick vegetation, vineyards and olive groves. In the past the shores of the lake were populated by the Etruscan and Roman people, and still today we can admire the imposing remains of this populations.
Due to the characteristics of the land and the long exposure to sun rays during the year, this country is a suitable area for the production of quality wines; the most famous are Est! Est!! Est!!! and Orvieto. This area is also important for cooking traditions rich in typical plates like Anguilla alla Vernaccia and Coregone alla griglia.
